Week Thirteen - w/e 1st February 2008

Monday, February 4th, 2008

The week began working on the Process Guide briefing document for the Open University workshop and chasing up the module leaders to finalise the list of modules to be developed for the project.

I also visited the University of Exeter and met with Mike Jeffries and Maarten De Laat to discuss Exeter’s new role in the project and gain an insight into how they currently create their e-learning online materials. It was agreed that Mike would confirm the new module and identify the relevant project members to attend the Open University workshop at the end of February.

Week Twelve - w/e 25th January 2008

Monday, February 4th, 2008

This week was spent mostly working in collaboration with the Open University on the Process Guide document and finalising details for the upcoming workshop.  A meeting was held at the Open University site in Milton Keynes to go over the current process documentation and review it in terms of applicability to the POCKET Project. It was agreed that a new set of pro formas would be drawn up and a pre - workshop pack would be put together to help prepare the module leaders.

It was also agreed that once the modules had been identified, a module “dump” would be arranged with the module leaders to allow the workshop presenters to familiarise themself with the module content in preparation for the workshop, maximising the support available on the day.

I attended the JISC Using Learning Resources Workshop at Aston University this week, which I found very helpful as it discussed a variety of issues with managing and sharing resources that other projects had identified and worked through. It also gave me a great opportunity to discover other JISC projects in my programme and share experiences with fellow project managers.

The reminder of the week was spent finalising the Learning Technologist recruitment pack and the job advertisements went live both internally and externally this week.
